Spark Ignitor – As gas is released from the gas valve the ignitor kicks on and creates a spark that catches the released gas alight on the burners allowing flowing gas to burn until the desired temperature is reached.
Hot-Surface Ignitor – Glows red hot when heat is called for. As gas is released it turns red hot ignites the gas release from the burners to hold fire until the call for heat is settled then the flame sensor takes over.
Standing Pilot – Is an ignitor that is always on. Gas is always being fed to keep the flame on. Because it is always on, when the call for heat comes in the system is already prepared for ignition. The thermocouple verifies that the pilot light is lit already and once that is done the gas valve opens to give enough gas to ignite the system and bring heat to the home.
In this section displayed are many replacement Ignitors for adding or repairing various furnace applications.
